Guishan(Turtle) Island

Guishan Island is 10 kilometers east of Toucheng Town and it is the largest island of Yilan County. Guishan Island is also the only active volcano in Taiwan and is the only island with residents in Yilan. Not only is the landmark of Yilan, Guishan Island also an emblem of Yilan spirit. Guishan Island, got its name because its shape resembles a turtle. In order to preserve the natural environment, the number of tourists is controlled. With the growing popularity of whale watching, Guishan Island has become the hottest tourist attraction.

Coastal pull-cart

It is a kind of connected bikes towed by a golf cart, which is created by local people. The cart will go along the coastline on bicycle lane. You can see the beautiful Turtle Island and Pacific Ocean scenery along the way. Arriving at the end point- "Zhen'an Palace"(Wealth God Temple), you can go inside and pray, then go back to the starting point.

Yilan biscuit DIY

There will be a teacher teaching you how to make Yilan biscuit by yourself. After finishing, they will help you bake and pack them, then you can take back as a souvenir!

Zhuangwei Dunes Travel Service Park

Covering 4.8 hectares of land, Zhuangwei Sand Dune Service Park brings together Yilan’s natural sand-dune landscape and architectural space designed by renowned architect Huang Sheng-yuan. Inaugurated on April 28, 2018, the park includes a visitor center, and sand-dune exhibition center (curated by film director Tsai Ming-liang), and an “island of forests.” In this area, there are many other beautiful places such as the coasts of Zhuangwei, bicycle trails, Houpi and Buhou communities, and Lanyang River Outlet Bird Conservation Area. It is simply wonderful to enjoy a walk, listen to the sounds of waves, or just stop to appreciate what’s there, at any time of a day - Sunrise, Sunset, or Moon-rise. Let’s take time to appreciate this sand-inspired park, which so serene and full of both natural and cultural charm.
